Russell Edward Brimhall of Hatch, New Mexico, entered the US Naval Training School(Radio), Company 17, on July 22, 1943. The US Navy Radio School was located at the University of Colorado in Boulderfrom 1942 to 1944 and trained 29 companies. The collection consists of Brimhall’s autobiography, entitled This is MyStory: A Rocky Road. The 235 page manuscript deals with not only Brimhall’s World War II experiences, but thosethroughout his entire life.

Russell Edward Brimhall was born June 2, 1923 in Randolph County, Pocahontas, Arkansas. He had two sisters, Ruth and Opal Brimhall. Throughout his childhood he traveled to many places across the country, including Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico. Mr. Brimhall joined the Navy and was selected for the US Naval Training School (Radio).
